Beware of 0350218395 SMS message from Aeon Credit card phone call scam Malaysia.

The other day I received a short text message on my cell phone from this number: 60143670653.

The message says:

AEON Card ending ****1169 was charged RM4299 at KLIA. pls call 0327884789 for any enquiry.

When I checked the message details, this is what I got:

+60143670653

Without even having to call up to check, I know this message is definitely a scam right off the bat.

The reason is I don’t own any AEON card.

The fact is I don’t possess any credit card and one of those sales-inducing cards, under the guise of membership, discount or what they like to call it loyalty program card.

I only carry a debit card. For years now I do most my transactions or payments online.

I have read from the Internet, someone even called up AEON bank to check the validity of the SMS.

Sure enough, it is a scam.

A few other complainants also received a very similar message on their cell phones.

The message is:

AEON: RM4299 was charged to your card ending****1169 at PL Goldsmith Sarawak. Pls call 0350218395 for any enquiry.

Some Malaysians who also received the same SMS AEON Card scam from these numbers: 016-8477604 and 0109706196.

There is one who received the same text message, but the number to call is: 0327884789.

So Malaysians out there, if you receive any similar text message on your cell phone, just ignore it right away.

The next time if you receive any unfamiliar message or phone call, just cut off the call.

Then find out the phone number of the caller and then google it right away.

There is a very chance, the anonymous or mysterious telephone is another one of those scam phone calls.
