Remember Hemy Hamisa Abu Hasan Saari aka Gadis Lokap (lock-up girl in Malay)?
No? Well, she is the awek Melayu (Malay girl) who was was secretly videotaped with a camera phone by a Constable Mohd Dzulfatah Saari, when she was doing ten nude ear squats at Damansara Utama police station in 2005.
She is the woman in the controversial 70-second nude squat video.
On June 29, 2005 at 1.45 a.m, then 22 year-old Hemy Hamisa Abu Hassan and her abang (husband) Kamarul Hamri Mohd Latif were caught together with four others for possessing methamphetamine better known as syabu at SK Damansara Jaya I & II.
At the time of her arrest, our Gadis Lokap was three-months pregnant.
As reported, it was Lans Koperal Wan Zawati @ Zalina Wan Ismail who ordered Hemy Hamisa to strip and do nude squats before her in an unlocked room. This was when constable Mohd Dzulfatah Saari videotaped her through a grilled window.
The purpose of doing nude ear squats is to dislodge any drugs or other items concealed in the body of detainees.
According to former Deputy Inspector General of the Police (IGP) Musa Hassan, doing nude ear squats or strip searches are standard procedure used to examine body cavities for possible contraband.
As reported in the New Straits Times, although such procedures were permitted by the standard operating procedures of the police, but the Lock-up Rules 1953 did not permit a body cavity search nor ear squats for any purpose. (Wikipedia)
The nude-squat video clip was widely circulated through the multimedia messaging service (MMS).
It was opposition Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, who had obtained a copy of the video, showed it to the others at Parliament House on 24th November 2005.

Today, this 28 year-old gadis Melayu (Malay girl) Hemy Hamisa Abu Hasan Saari, is now married and a mother of three children.
As reported in the Malaysia latest news today, the Malaysian Government has agreed to compensate with Gadis Lokap with an undisclosed sum.
In August 2006, she had filed the suit totalling more than RM250,000.
