Let’s face it. No one is going to let Facebook alone, to enjoy its fame and fortune for long. Now comes, Google Plus project. Probably Facebook may face a stiff competition from Google Plus social network. But definitely, not for now.
As reported, Facebook has responded to the launch of Google Plus social network with the announcement of “something awesome”. It is said to be a deal with Skype to launch a video chat service in Facebook.
Google has just released its brand new social network called Google Plus project, aka “the Facebook killer”. But it has not been officially released to the big public as yet. Now it is opened to invitations only.
Personally at the moment, I don’t think this new Google social network can even scratch Facebook. It still has long way to go. By the way, do you know Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg himself has joined Google+?
Presently for those of you who want to sign-up with Google Plus, it is sad to say that at the moment it has closed for new sign-ups, due to the overwhelming response. You can still sign-up, but you need to wait for their reply as to when the new invites will be available. Click here.

It needs a lot of effort for Google to get Facebook users to crossover over to Google+. As we all know most users of Facebook are non-techy followers. They become Facebook members just because everyone else they know has a Facebook. I am sure many of your mothers, aunties and uncles have Facebook too. From what I read, Google+ will be a favorite for those techy-users.
There is this Faecbook Friend Exporter plugin which you can import your Facebook contacts into Google+. But Facebook is actively trying to block this tool developed by Mohamed Mansour.
According to Google, the ways in which we connect online are limited and don’t mimic our real-life relationships. So the introduction of Google Plus social network is its attempt to make online sharing even better. They want to introduce a new way to connect online with the people that matter to you.
For people in businesses looking to market on Google+, there will be “Pages” similar to Facebook “fan pages” out soon. So are social games. Watch out for it.
As for privacy matters, Google has already been forced to tweak its privacy setting on Google+ by completely eliminating the ability to share certain semiprivate posts to your wider network of friends.
For copyrights, it is stated in Google+ Terms of Service, you retain copyright and any other rights you already hold in content which you submit, post or display on or through, the services.”. In other words, you fully retain all the rights to your stuff. Whereas Facebook which takes co-ownership.

Just like the phrase “circle of friends”. This feature let you share different things with different people. Unlike other social networks, they are all about sharing with a wide audience. Circles makes it easy to put your friends from Saturday night in one circle, your parents in another and your boss in a circle all on his own, just like in real life.
In other words, you can segregate or group friends, family, and associates into groups; thus optimizing the flow of information to each one. This is a great feature which helps to keep your professional and private life apart. You don’t find this in Facebook.
