Every now and then, I love to have either hot Hainan coffee or the so-called “champ” (mixture of coffee and tea) at my favorite Keng Swee Cafe at Pasar Baru Bukit Bintang. It is also known as Imbi wet market at Jalan Melati, Kuala Lumpur.
Usually I would order two steamed buns together with two slices of butter. I just slip in the butter slices into the steaming hot soft buns and let them melt for a minute or so.
Personally, I prefer the drinks and the toast or buns over at Keng Swee Cafe, rather than the next door stall, Ah Weng Hainan Tea. Further more this kopitiam (coffee shop) is not overly crowded and too noisy, where you can enjoy your breakfast, while reading your morning paper. Anyway, both stalls are offering the same stuff: drinks, toast and soft-boiled eggs.
So next time, you are in Imbi wet market, pop over to Keng Swee Cafe.
