It is said that Zunar caught the CRNI’s attention after he and the news portal Malaysiakini filed law suits against the Home Ministry over the banning of two books on his works, 1Funny Malaysia and Perak Darul Kartun.
Zunar is the only true-blue Malaysian political cartoonist who has been satiring and “ketuking” (ctiticizing) the Kerajaaan (government) of the day.

Remember on 24th September last year, Zunar’s cartoon books were seized and he was arrested by the police, just hours before the launch of his new book “Cartoon-O-Phobia” at Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall.
Cartooning in Malaysia is not just drawing about the adventure of misadventure pf fun innocent kampung boys or two botak (bald headed) kids running around saying “betul…betul…betul,,,”.
