Reduce Suicide Risk In Half By Drinking Coffee

According to a new study was published online July 2, 2013,  in The World Journal of Biological Psychiatry, U.S., it reports that the risk of suicide for adults who drank two to four cups of caffeinated coffee per day was about 50% lesser that of those who drank decaffeinated coffee or very little or no coffee. In other words, drinking a few cups of coffee daily may reduce the risk of suicide in half for both men and women.

The researchers at Harvard School of Public Health(HSPH)  found there is a possibility that caffeine may act as a mild antidepressant, by boosting production of neurotransmitters in the brain, including serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline.

Despite of the findings, people having depression are NOT recommend  to increase the consumption of caffeine. Anyway, according to the researchers, there is little further benefit for consumption of more that 2 to 3 cups of coffee.

Then I have read coffee can help one to reduce weight. It says that the caffeine of the coffee reduces your appetite. After consuming your cup of joe, you will feel less hungry. In addition, coffee can stimulate thermogenesis to heat up the body and boosts metabolism.
