That was the first time this penetration trick secret was exposed, before all those YouTube and TikTok video clips.
I have revised and updated it for those who have missed this closeup trick reveal before.
My explanation how Mister Danger Tenyo T-305 trick is done, is by watching the demonstration videos.

Being a magic enthusiast, I know most of Tenyo magic trick secrets by viewing the demo videos, and the props from websites.
But then knowing the trick behind the magic, is only a part of the whole magical experience.
I am more interested in the psychology of magic tricks.
How magic tricks manipulates with our perceptions and expectations; thus creating a sense of wonder and mystery.
Mister Danger Tenyo Trick Secret Explained
Tenyo Mr. Danger came out in the late 2022, together with The Final Piece, Lucky Strings and Size Surprise.
Since then, many kept heaping praises on this Mister Danger T-305 from Tenyo, Japan.
This swords through the Orange Man trick was said to be the best release Tenyo has had for a very long time.
It piqued my curiosity, because it was hailed as the ultimate sword penetration.
Mr. Danger Tenyo Magic Mechanical Marvel
Moreover, this Mr. Danger magic toy, or rather mechanical device is sold out in many online magic retailers.
With so much brouhaha, I decided to take a stab at guessing how Mr. Danger magic trick is done.
The Effect:
Placed a clear color acrylic figurine inside a indented mold of a special-designed casing with a lid.
The Orange Man figurine fits snugly into the mold.
Close the lid and slot in the two plastic clips.
Insert ten plastic swords through the holes on the casing, and apparently they go through the solid acrylic figurine.
Then remove the swords from the holes of the casing, and the figurine is still lying flat inside the indented mold.

Find out how I cracked the secret, without breaking the plastic Orange Man, so to speak.
From my observations, I supposed the method could be similar to another one of Tenyo magic tricks.
Probably it is identical to the 1981 T-108 Soft Coins by Keiji Takahashi.

The method of this solid through solid trick is by shifting the row of coins away from the holes.

In other words, for Mister Danger trick, you need to shift or reposition the cut-out figurine aka the Orange Man.
How Does The Mister Danger Trick Work?
Now let’s find out Tenyo Mister Danger trick explained in details.
It was advertised as a complete self-working trick.
Meaning, the prop has a built-in gimmick which does the trick.
When I viewed the video demonstrations, the pairs of plastic clips appeared redundant to me.
Obviously the box casing does not need the two clips to tighten the cover, or hold the figurine in place.
Particularly, the bottom clip at the hinge of the cover; it appears superfluous.
So, I reckoned the two clips must be part of the trick.
When I looked closer look at the pair of clips, each has a short peg-like projection inside them.
Then I believed these clips when slotted into the holes at the side of the casing, they must trigger the built-in mechanism.
I do not know the precise working of the mechanism, as I do not have the real McCoy in hand.
But I did notice, most of the performers fit in and remove the clip at the bottom hole first.
At that juncture, I suspected the bottom clip could be controlling the built-in mechanism, which moved the acrylic figurine.
After the trick, the bottom clip are removed, the figurine would move back into its original position.
This demo video confirmed the one or both clips must be the key to the secret working of Mister Danger magic trick.
After he has inserted the two clips onto the casing, the holes are unobstructed.
In short, the solid figurine is NOT blocking the holes any more.
At 0:30, you can see through the holes (white color T-shirt), when he turns the back view of the casing around.
The set of holes at the back of the prop are bigger.
Many magic tricks with the penetration effect used this shifting or repositioning the obstacle method.
For instance Jim Steinmeyer’s “Walking through a Brick Wall” illusion, “Franz Harary Walking Through A Girl Trick“, “Peter Warlock Glass Penetration” or “Steel Ball Through Glass” close up trick.
Here is another Tenyo product that uses the similar relocating the obstacle.
Tenyo T-169 The Phantom Key/Zone Infinity
Tenyo T-169 is originally called Zone Infinity, but Milton Bradley Magic Works version is called “The Phantom Key”.
This key through penetration trick uses the same method.
The key pushes the coin to drop out from the indented mold inside the holder, to make way for it to go through.

Nail Thru Coin Magic Trick
The secret of the nails or spikes poking through the holes, is by tilting the solid coin/disc vertically, as shown below.
The illustration below is taken from the instruction sheet of Royal Magic Spiked Coin found in eBay.

I thought the Mr. Danger acrylic figurine has to reposition to allow the swords to poke through all the ten sets of holes.
Impossible Glass Penetration Trick
The secret could also be similar to Magic Wagon’s “Impossible Glass Penetration Trick“, where the glass sheet has to be tilted at an angle.
This means the acrylic figurine has to be tilted at a certain angle to avoid the ten holes.
Probably this is the position of the acrylic figurine when tilted as shown in this rough illustration below.
Look carefully at the narrow edge of the indented mold.
It has a hidden slit opening all around to accommodate the figurine new position.
Look at the slim edge of the indented mold at the two pictures below.
How do I know there is a secret slit opening along the inner side of the indented mold?
Tenyo Mister Danger Stuck
I read in Magic Cafe Forums, the issue of Mr. Danger magic toy acrylic figurine getting stuck in the molding of the casing.
In this video the performer has problem getting the acrylic figurine out from the mold, after the trick.
I think Mr. Danger got gripped by the closed slit opening.
Most likely it is the spring-loaded mechanism that causes the Mr. Danger acrylic figurine to get stuck.
Someone mentioned in the Magic Cafe Forums, it is included in the instructions, how to fix this technical hiccup.
Use the sword to poke at the holes at the back of the casing, just like what this performer is doing in this TikTok video.
This is another demo video where the Mr. Danger figurine need to be pushed out from the mold casing from the back with the sword.
Then there is the problem of removing the clips, as seen from this Kiddy Land Magic video.
As I have mentioned, this Tenyo latest 2023 magic toy is more of a mechanical device.
Back in February 2023, I thought this is probably how Mister Danger Tenyo trick works.
Well, it appears my speculation of Mr. Danger Tenyo magic secret is correct.
After this post was published, someone bought this Tenyo magic trick and exposed it on YouTube.
